This luxurious property in Tianjin, China, draws inspiration from the Art Deco movement. We incorporated lighting design in three layers: the crown, the façade, and the courtyard & exterior street-level. Each level offers a unique and beautiful aesthetic, bringing light and life to the property.
The top of the tower is also the crown of the city which serves as a city symbol. With the building's characteristics, we mounted uplights to highlight the crown with different intensities, celebrating its vertical surfaces.
For the facade along the street level, we paid close attention to accenting the details of the building, allowing people to see delicate design features and feel welcome at night. At the podium façade, we used spotlights and linear lights to accent distinctive features, adding visual layers to the building in the evening. In the courtyard, we mounted only a small number of lighting fixtures, in order to provide people with a quiet relaxing space.
We programmed lighting intensities to bring a quiet and welcoming vibe to the tenants with thorough consideration of space functionalities. We used lights as a visual organizer to guide people on where and how to see at night.
