Introduction

Located within the Dong'an Lake Sports Park in the Dong'an Lake area of Longquanyi District, Chengdu, the Dong'an Lake Sports Park VVIP Reception Center is designed primarily for reception purposes. The indoor lighting employs a color temperature of 3500K to create a comfortable and warm atmosphere throughout the space.

Ground Floor VIP Reception Hall: Anchored by a celestial ceiling motif, the space introduces an element of irregularity, instilling a sense of ease and repose. Lighting adheres to the interior design philosophy, with perforated panels illuminated from within to achieve a twinkling starlight effect. The main background wall, accentuated with focused lighting, becomes a visual focal point, enhancing the overall appeal.

Ground Floor VIP Escalator Area: The escalator area leading to the second floor boasts a brighter lighting effect. Functional lighting added at the base of the escalators eliminates dark zones at the bottom. Handrail lighting is also incorporated, enriching the layered lighting of the space and avoiding monotony.

Ground Floor Showroom: Enriched by a diverse lighting scheme, the showroom adapts seamlessly to various functions. Functional lighting serves as the primary illumination, with additional ambient lighting added to walls, floors, and columns to enhance the space when used for exhibitions. Focused lighting for the art on the main background wall accentuates the display effect of the artwork.

Ground Floor VIP Lounge: A softened lighting effect is required in the lounge to convey comfort and relaxation. In such spaces, it's essential to avoid direct lighting that may cause glare in seating areas. The space is primarily illuminated with indirect and ambient light. In particular, the strategic placement of downlights, predominantly illuminating pathways, harmonizes with indirect ambient light from ceilings and facades, creating a softly illuminated space.

The use of light can influence people's emotions and mental states. Achieving sufficient, non-glaring light and a comfortable level of brightness is what lighting designers must control holistically. From minute details to the overarching design, the manipulation of light nuances shapes how people perceive and interact within a given space.
